About what we do …
Founded on 2004, Studio 1482 is the collaboration of nine working artists with
a common goal. On the grounds that all graphic imagery must communicate in
a thoughtful and appropriate manner, Studio 1482 was created with the intent
to change the business of design and illustration.
Pushing forward on a foundation of reportage illustration, our direction is based
on visual language; nine distinct languages of marks, graphics, design, color and
line—each with our own translation of an idea and targeted to the problem at hand.
As independent illustrators we offer nine choices, each with endless possibilities—
providing illustration for the advertising, editorial, publishing, institutional and film
communities, on a one on one basis, building direct relationships with our clients.
As a studio we are able to combine our varied backgrounds and expertise to amplify
the direction of these possibilities. When the project calls for two heads, or nine,
rather than one, we bring the desired experience to the task with an established
history of collaboration.
